LETZ ZEP Celebrate The Music Of Led Zeppelin At The Gov Adelaide

There are some songs that do not just live in music history. They sit carved into the foundations of rock itself.

On Friday May 22, The Gov in Adelaide became a house of worship for one of the greatest catalogues ever written as LETZ ZEP brought their Celebrating The Music Of Led Zeppelin Australian tour to town.

For a band taking on the music of Led Zeppelin, the task is massive. These songs are not just about notes and riffs. They are about feel, soul, swagger, power, looseness, danger and that untouchable magic that made Zeppelin one of the most important bands to ever walk onto a stage. LETZ ZEP understand that. They do not just play the songs. They throw themselves into the spirit of them.

The setlist was stacked with absolute giants. Achilles Last Stand, Black Dog, Communication Breakdown, Dazed and Confused, Heartbreaker, Immigrant Song, Kashmir, Moby Dick, No Quarter, Ramble On, Rock and Roll, Since I’ve Been Loving You, Stairway To Heaven, Thank You and Whole Lotta Love all made their way into the night, giving Adelaide a full journey through the power, blues, mysticism and pure rock and roll force of Led Zeppelin’s legacy.

From the heavy stomp of Black Dog to the soaring atmosphere of Kashmir, from the emotional pull of Since I’ve Been Loving You to the timeless weight of Stairway To Heaven, the room was filled with songs that generations of rock fans have lived with, grown up with and passed down.

There was a real warmth in the crowd too. This was not just nostalgia for the sake of it. It was people reconnecting with music that means something. You could see it in the faces around the room. People singing every word, air drumming, nodding along to riffs that have been part of their lives for decades.

LETZ ZEP have earned serious respect for the way they honour the Led Zeppelin catalogue, with even Jimmy Page and Robert Plant having attended their performances over the years. The band were also invited to perform at the official launch of Led Zeppelin’s Mothership compilation, which says plenty about the level of care and authenticity they bring to the stage.

For me, it was a real pleasure to be there camera in hand, capturing the night for Crannk.com. The Gov once again proved why it is such a special live room in Adelaide, and LETZ ZEP gave the crowd a night that celebrated not only the songs, but the fire, spirit and legend behind them.

A night of classic rock history, played loud and proud.

Led Zeppelin may be untouchable.

But LETZ ZEP carried the flame with respect, power and heart.
