Behemoth Unleash In League With Satan Featuring Shagrath And Release I, Scvlptor

Polish extreme metal legends Behemoth have unleashed “In League With Satan”, the second single from their new studio release I, Scvlptor, which is out now digitally via Nuclear Blast Records and physically via Massacre Records.

The track is a reworking of the Venom classic and features a very special guest appearance from Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir. The music video was produced by acclaimed Polish production collective Grupa 13.

For Behemoth, “In League With Satan” is more than just a cover. It is a nod to the foundational fire of satanic rock ’n’ roll, filtered through the weight, precision and blackened grandeur that Behemoth bring to everything they touch.

Nergal comments:

“When we were looking for a name for our tour with Dimmu Borgir, I thought it would be great to use a timeless slogan and basically quote the gods of satanic rock’n’roll — Venom and “In League with Satan” perfectly fit my vision. I honestly don’t remember what came first — the idea for the tour name or the idea of recording the song itself. What matters is that we recorded it on seven-string guitars with Shagrath from Dimmu as a guest vocalist. The song gained a massive weight and a completely new dimension. We’re planning to play it live and I think our version turned into something truly powerful.”

That combination alone is enough to get extreme metal fans leaning forward.

Behemoth taking on Venom already carries a certain sense of lineage. Add Shagrath into the fold and suddenly “In League With Satan” becomes something much bigger, a meeting point between different eras and branches of extreme music. It honours the original while dragging it into Behemoth’s own realm with modern weight and atmosphere.

For anyone who has seen Behemoth live, you already know how much power they bring to the stage. Their music has always felt ceremonial, confrontational and absolutely immense, and this version of “In League With Satan” sounds built for that kind of scale.

I, Scvlptor is an exclusive release featuring eight previously unreleased songs, made up of seven new studio recordings and one live track. It is being described as an autonomous body of work that bridges Behemoth’s foundational past with their present creative fire.

The release features brand new studio material, re-recorded early works and tribute covers that speak directly to the roots of the band’s darkness.

Two early Behemoth tracks have been newly re-recorded for the release. “Rise Of The Blackstorm Of Evil”, originally from The Return Of The Northern Moon in 1992, and “In Thy Pandemaeternum”, originally from Pandemonic Incantations in 1998, have been reshaped with modern sonics while preserving their original spirit.

Alongside those re-recordings, I, Scvlptor also pays tribute to artists who helped shape Behemoth’s world. “In League With Satan” was originally by Venom and features Shagrath of Dimmu Borgir, while “The Return Of Darkness And Evil”, originally by Bathory, features Sakis Tolis of Rotting Christ.

Nergal says:

“We’re fucking excited about the release of I, Scvlptor. Even though it’s not a regular studio album and is, in fact, more of a compilation, the mere fact that it contains songs nobody has ever heard before makes it a significant release for us. What’s more, some of these tracks are likely a little different from what we offered on our last album, The Shit Ov God. That’s why we see I, Scvlptor as an important record — a connecting piece, a bridge between where we are now and whatever may come next in the distant future.”

That “bridge” idea feels important here.

Behemoth have never been a band content to sit quietly in one era of their own history. Their evolution has been constant, from the rawness of their early material through to the sharpened, theatrical and crushing force they have become. I, Scvlptor looks back without simply living in the past. It reshapes, reclaims and expands.

There is also something fitting about this release arriving as both a reflection and a statement of intent. It pulls from the past, honours influence, gives unheard material a place to breathe, and points toward whatever Behemoth may become next.

I, Scvlptor is available on CD, LP, MC and Limited Edition Box Set through Massacre Records worldwide, and digitally via Nuclear Blast Records.
