Thirteen Days – Winter Album Launch
With Larsen & The Unset
The Ed Castle, Adelaide | 26 September 2026
A Night at The Ed Castle with Thirteen Days and Friends
It’s 8:30 PM on a Saturday night. The busy doors of The Ed Castle are open and welcoming everyone in as the metal and rock heads start to flood through and everything gets prepared.
Thirteen Days are about to drop some crazy shit at their own headline gig, backed by some wicked opening bands.
I got there pretty early, bought myself a pizza and some chips and got locked down for the awesome night ahead.
The merch table was stacked, and honestly, it was really cool seeing everyone grouping up and supporting our more underground bands.
The room started setting the mood with bright lights of multiple colours as The Unset graced us with the opening set.
The Unset
What a beautiful opening into a perfect rock performance!
The Unset had purple lights backing them through smoky haze, immediately setting the atmosphere. The three-man band were locked and loaded, with a six-string bass setting the stage, a fitting white guitar hanging from the lead man and a heavy drum kit smashing everything together.
You guys were awesome!
True alt-post-rock fashion and a great way to kick off the night.
The Unset are an Adelaide power trio whose sound moves through alternative and progressive rock, making them a bloody fitting choice for a bill that was going to shift through a few different moods as the night went on. Moshtix
Larsen
Heavy bass got us going as Larsen took over.
A few tech issues don’t go astray though, and Larsen still managed to put on a sick set.
The four-member band brought two guitars, a devilish bass player and a drummer giving it absolutely everything.
There was much more of a grunge approach to this part of the night, with the crowd swinging side to side underneath the bright lights.
Then Larsen told us they were trying something new with a song they’d never played live before.
That brought a heavier nu-metal vibe onto the floor, and honestly?
It was actually really cool!
It showed another side of the band while still fitting naturally alongside the grunge and alternative rock energy they’d already brought into the room.
Amazing job, dudes.
Liam’s description of that stylistic switch lines up nicely with Larsen’s broader alternative/grunge background and the varied influences surrounding their Happy Accidents era. Review Moshtix
Thirteen Days
Woah!
It was really awesome getting to see Thirteen Days as the headliners rather than as a supporting band.
This time they had the chance to properly show off their own tech, atmosphere and personality in what was already a great night.
The candles were set.
A backing track came through the darkness with those heavy electronic feels.
Awesome.
Thirteen Days are a really explosive band with plenty of passion and an up-and-coming energy about them. They have such a unique approach, bringing some of that old-school feeling together with a modern-day love for what they’re creating.
And seeing them headline their own Winter album launch made that feel even more important. The record is the band’s debut album, built from material Joel Winton and Maxwell Beckett began developing together back in 2022. Happening Next
Maxwell’s voice is always ethereal.
There’s something about it that just grabs the crowd. He can hold onto that angelic quality and then suddenly hit you with those brutal switch-ups.
The whole band has this sick way of giving us multiple sounds and somehow fitting all of them together.
Super unique!
It was an honour getting to see you guys headline.
Hopefully a bigger stage next year, yeah?
Some flames and shit!
Supporting the Adelaide Underground
Overall, the whole night was fuelled by pure energy and passion.
There were plenty of people there, different sounds throughout the bill and something for everyone. Everyone seemed chilled out, excited and just happy to be part of it.
It was really cool seeing people have a good time through all the different moods, smoke, lights and awesome music.
More than anything, nights like this show why getting out and supporting local and underground bands matters.
I hope you all had as good a night as I did.
May The Riffs Guide You.
Mr Doom, Out! 🤘
