Plain White T’s Share New Version Of Hey There Delilah Featuring LØLØ

Some songs become bigger than the moment they were released in.

For me personally, “Hey There Delilah” is one of those songs. I used to sing the original to my daughter Delilah when she was little, so seeing Plain White T’s give this track a new chapter all these years later hits in a really special way.

Plain White T’s have shared a new version of their timeless love song “Hey There Delilah”, this time featuring acclaimed pop rock artist LØLØ.

Originally released on May 9, 2006, “Hey There Delilah” has gone on to become one of the defining love songs of the 2000s. It has now surpassed 2.5 billion streams, topped the Billboard Hot 100, earned two Grammy nominations and become one of those rare songs that continues to find new life across generations.

But numbers only tell part of the story.

The real power of “Hey There Delilah” has always been its simplicity. A voice, a guitar, a name, and a feeling. Before FaceTime, Instagram stories and constant connection, the song captured the ache, hope and tenderness of long distance love in a way that felt honest and human.

It was stripped back, but it was huge.

That is why the song has endured. It was never just a hit. It became part of people’s lives, part of memories, part of growing up, part of relationships, and for some of us, part of being a parent and singing something gentle to our kids.

Now Plain White T’s have opened the song up from the other side.

With LØLØ joining the new version, “Hey There Delilah” gains Delilah’s point of view, adding a new lyrical perspective and a gorgeous layer of harmony. The result feels familiar, but also completely refreshed. The story now has another voice in it.

For fans who have wondered about Delilah’s side of the song for years, this version gives that feeling a place to land.

LØLØ says:

“I think everyone who grew up with ‘Hey There Delilah’ wondered at some point who Delilah really was. I know I did. Never in my wildest dreams would I think that she could be me one day! This song has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I even sung it at my camp talent show as a kid. In 2020, I wrote a response from Delilah’s POV that blew up on TikTok, so being invited by the Plain White T’s to officially reimagine the song six years later feels unbelievably full circle (and very surreal)! It’s truly an honor to be part of such an iconic song’s next chapter and I’m so grateful to help tell Delilah’s story in a new way.”

That full circle moment is what makes this version work.

It is not just a modern feature slapped onto a classic song. LØLØ already had her own connection to it. She had already stepped into Delilah’s world through her 2020 response version, and now Plain White T’s have given her the chance to make that perspective official.

The back and forth between Tom Higgenson and LØLØ gives the track a new emotional weight. It is still “Hey There Delilah”, but now it feels like a conversation instead of a message sent out into the distance.

Plain White T’s have been a reliable force in pop rock since emerging in 1997. The Chicago quartet, Tom Higgenson, Tim Lopez, Mike Retondo and De’Mar Hamilton, have built a career around unforgettable hooks and songs that stick in your head long after they finish.

Across their career, the band have amassed over 2.7 billion total global streams, earned two Grammy nominations, and collected multiple Platinum and Gold certifications. “Hey There Delilah” remains their signature moment, going quadruple platinum, topping the Billboard Hot 100, and earning Grammy nominations in 2008 for Song of the Year and Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

The band have also made their mark across pop culture through appearances and placements connected to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, Sesame Street, iCarly, 90210, Beavis & Butthead and Frankenweenie, while continuing to show that they are far more than a one song story.

Their self titled album arrived in late 2023, proving Plain White T’s are still very much moving forward.

LØLØ brings her own sharp pop rock voice into this new version. Since 2018, the Toronto born singer and songwriter has built a devoted audience through brutally open lyrics, nineties spun alternative energy, attitude-heavy rock and punchy pop.

Her 2024 full length debut falling for robots & wishing i was one earned strong attention, and her Fearless Records debut god forbid a girl spits out her feelings! arrived April 17, 2026. She has also toured with acts including jxdn, Boys Like Girls, Simple Plan and Against The Current, while continuing to make a name for herself across the festival circuit.

With this new version of “Hey There Delilah”, Plain White T’s and LØLØ have managed to do something that is not always easy.

They have taken a song so many people already hold close and found a way to add to it without taking away what made it special in the first place.

For longtime fans, it is a beautiful revisit.

For a new generation, it might be their first doorway into a song that has already meant so much to so many.

“Hey There Delilah” featuring LØLØ is out now.
