Ahead of their first Australian festival appearance, Zelli talks new music, insane crowds, Counterparts and why Australia keeps calling them back.

Some bands survive them.
Paleface Swiss leave behind what can only be described as a crime scene.
After completely selling out their last Australian headline tour, the Swiss heavyweights are heading back in January 2027 for their first-ever Australian festival appearance at Froth & Fury. If you’ve seen them before, you already know what’s coming. If you haven’t… maybe stretch beforehand.
I caught up with frontman Marc “Zelli” Zellweger to talk about returning Down Under, bringing a stack of new songs with them, and why Australia has become one of their favorite places on Earth.
Despite admitting they hoped their first Australian run would go well, even the band wasn’t prepared for what happened.
“Everything sold out… What the f**? So sick. So cool.”
That reaction clearly hasn’t faded.
Talking about finally stepping onto a festival stage in Australia, Zelli couldn’t hide his excitement.
“I’m so excited. I’m so stoked that we get to play a festival down there. I love festivals so much. It’s perfect to switch from a club show to a festival and back to a club show.”
Fans can also expect plenty of fresh material.
The band will be bringing several songs Australians have never heard live before.
“We’re going to play at least five or six songs that we have not played in Australia yet… Australians go f**ing nuts anyways, so I’ve got high expectations.”
As if Paleface Swiss weren’t enough, this tour also brings Counterparts and Fox Lake, creating one of the heaviest touring packages Australia has seen in years. Zelli admitted Counterparts are the band he’ll be watching every night.
“Everything about this lineup is a dream.”
One thing became obvious throughout our chat. For all the chaos Paleface Swiss create on stage, Zelli isn’t chasing perfection.
He’s chasing a feeling.
“As long as the people have fun… I don’t care if I sing one or two notes wrong. Everybody had a great time.”
That’s probably the best description of a Paleface Swiss show you’ll ever hear.
It’s not about technical perfection.
It’s about walking away grinning, covered in someone else’s sweat, wondering what the hell just happened.
