In This Moment Announce New Album Witch And Unleash Crawl

The next era of In This Moment has arrived, and the spell has been cast.

The GRAMMY Award-nominated, multi-platinum heavy alternative force have announced their ninth full length album Witch, set for release on August 28. The album also marks the band’s debut LP for Better Noise Music.

Alongside the announcement, In This Moment have unleashed their new single and video “Crawl”, a dark, heavy and commanding first strike from the record.

For a band who have always built their world around sound, symbolism, spectacle and emotional transformation, “Crawl” feels like a powerful opening statement.

The track seethes in true In This Moment style, anchored by a gut punching riff and the unmistakable vocal force of Maria Brink. It has that slow burning pressure the band do so well, where the atmosphere coils around you before the song fully sinks its hooks in.

Speaking about “Crawl”, Brink says:

“‘Crawl’ is a reckoning — a reflection that those who dominate and cause pain will ultimately reap what they sow. As above, so below. The fall is inevitable. Bearing witness to the harm they inflict, the song declares that those who once stood tall will be brought to their knees.”

That sense of reckoning sits right at the heart of the song.

In This Moment have never been strangers to turning pain, rage, power and vulnerability into something larger than life. “Crawl” takes that familiar fire and points it toward those who abuse power, those who inflict harm, and the moment when control begins to collapse.

Co-founder and guitarist Chris Howorth adds:

“‘Crawl’ is a visceral track that delivers the undeniable observation of powerful entities dominating and abusing the weaker and compromised masses — something that continues to repeat itself throughout human history. The song empowers and, at its core, is about standing up and fighting back.”

That gives the track another layer of weight.

“Crawl” is not just dark for the sake of darkness. It is built around resistance, consequence and empowerment. It carries the feeling of watching something oppressive begin to fall, and finding strength in the refusal to stay silent.

But “Crawl” is only the beginning.

Witch is set to showcase every side of In This Moment, bringing together fury, femininity and fire across an 11 track album that promises intensity, introspection and full scale theatrical force.

The record also brings some strong guests into the fold. Dayseeker appear on “I Want To Believe”, Kim Dracula joins the band for “Heretic”, and Kat Von D appears on a cover of the Pink Floyd classic “Another Brick In The Wall”.

That guest list alone says plenty about the world In This Moment are building on Witch. It is heavy, dramatic, cinematic and wide reaching, but still deeply connected to the band’s own identity.

For Maria Brink, the album is rooted in transformation.

She says:

“WITCH is my declaration of inner transformation. It’s about embracing the duality within — taking pain, persecution, and struggle — and alchemizing them into strength and power. The album reflects both ancient trials and my own journey — where being a ‘witch’ means being a creator, connected to the universe, manifesting my own reality.”

That idea feels perfectly aligned with what In This Moment have become over the years.

The band have always existed in a space where heaviness and ritual meet. Their music is built on massive hooks and industrial edged force, but there is also a deep sense of theatre, image and emotional symbolism running through everything they do.

With Witch, that world seems to be expanding even further.

The title itself carries weight. It suggests persecution and power, fear and freedom, shadow and self possession. It points toward a record that does not just explore darkness, but uses darkness as a place of creation and rebirth.

In This Moment first teased this new chapter with “Sleeping With The Enemy”, a track that has already pulled in over one million streams and earned strong praise for its blistering force.

Now with “Crawl”, the shape of this era is becoming clearer.

This is In This Moment leaning fully into what they do best: huge atmosphere, commanding vocals, heavy riffs, visual drama and songs that turn personal and collective pain into something empowering.

Led by the magnetic presence of Maria Brink, In This Moment have built a global following through their fusion of spectacle, vulnerability and massive melodic hooks. Across their career, they have earned platinum certified success and more than two billion streams, while continuing to stand apart as one of heavy alternative music’s most distinctive forces.

Witch looks set to continue that legacy while opening another door.

The fall is inevitable.

The spell has been cast.
