Brand Of Sacrifice are back, and they have returned with serious force.
The Canadian deathcore titans have unleashed a devastating double single, “Seeing Red” and “This Place Wasn’t Meant For Us”, marking their first new music since late 2023 and the opening strike of what feels like a major new chapter for the band.

Since forming in 2018, Brand Of Sacrifice have carved out a place as one of the most intense, cinematic and emotionally charged forces in modern heavy music. Their sound has always felt massive, like standing on the edge of something collapsing, where beauty, grief, violence and transformation all crash together at once.
With “Seeing Red” and “This Place Wasn’t Meant For Us”, the band sound like they are reconnecting with the atmosphere and emotion of their earlier work while sharpening everything through the experience and power of the band they have become.
There is a real sense of scale here. These tracks are not just heavy for the sake of being heavy. They carry weight, tension and purpose. It is Brand Of Sacrifice pulling from the world building and cinematic unease of The Interstice and Lifeblood, then driving that energy forward into something darker, more direct and completely crushing.
“Seeing Red” comes out swinging.
This is one of the band’s most immediate and brutal tracks to date, built around pure impact. The riffs hit hard, the atmosphere feels violent, and everything about it sounds designed to take the air out of the room. But underneath all of that chaos is something deeply human. The track taps into that desperate search for control when everything around you feels unstable, turning the rage and heaviness into something people can actually feel and connect with.
That has always been one of the strongest parts of Brand Of Sacrifice. Even at their most devastating, there is emotion beneath the destruction.
The companion track, “This Place Wasn’t Meant For Us”, moves in a different way. It leans into the band’s darker atmospheric side, building with eerie tension and cinematic weight before everything finally gives way. It is slow burning, unsettling and massive, pulling listeners deeper into that world Brand Of Sacrifice have always been so good at creating.
Together, the two singles show two sides of the same beast.
One is direct, brutal and explosive. The other is haunting, tense and immersive. Both feel connected by that same sense of emotional collapse and transformation that has run through the band’s best work.
Speaking about the new singles, vocalist Kyle Anderson shares:
“Seeing Red” and “This Place Wasn’t Meant For Us” mark an incredible moment for us as our first new material since 2023. While these songs push Brand of Sacrifice forward, they also reconnect with elements of our past, drawing inspiration from the atmosphere and emotion of The Interstice and our sophomore release Lifeblood. We wanted to strip things back and focus on something more visceral, and honest while capturing a sense of nostalgia without simply repeating ourselves. We’re very proud of these tracks and can’t wait for everyone to experience this next chapter with us.”
That statement says a lot about where Brand Of Sacrifice are right now.
This does not feel like a band trying to reinvent themselves by walking away from what made them powerful in the first place. It feels like a band looking back at the emotional core of their earlier work, understanding what made it resonate, and then using everything they have learned since to make it hit even harder.

The new singles follow the band’s 2023 EP Between Death And Dreams and standalone single “Purge”, which also marked their signing to Nuclear Blast Records after their explosive independent rise.
That era saw Brand Of Sacrifice expand both emotionally and thematically, with Anderson moving further away from earlier anime inspired themes and digging deeper into the darker trenches of the human condition. The band’s sound also continued to stretch outward, leaning into cinematic scope while keeping the brutality firmly intact.
Now, with “Seeing Red” and “This Place Wasn’t Meant For Us”, Brand Of Sacrifice sound locked in.
Every part of these tracks feels sharpened. The heaviness is more focused, the atmosphere is more oppressive, and the emotional weight feels more direct. This is deathcore with scale, but also with intent. It is not just about destruction. It is about what sits underneath it.
Brand Of Sacrifice have always been able to make heavy music feel enormous, but this new material feels like a reminder that they are also one of the most emotionally intense bands in the modern deathcore space.
They are not just building songs.
They are building worlds.
And with “Seeing Red” and “This Place Wasn’t Meant For Us”, Brand Of Sacrifice have opened the door on their next chapter with absolute command.
If this is the first strike, then whatever comes next is going to hit hard.
