Dark, aggressive and emotionally charged, “Imminent Lies” sees Besomora pushing further into modern melodic death metal territory while still holding onto the melody, atmosphere and emotional weight that have helped define their sound.

This is not just heavy for the sake of being heavy. There is a real sense of atmosphere running through the track, with the band leaning into something darker, sharper and more focused. It feels like the opening chapter of a new era for Besomora, one built around fear, inner demons, mythology and the kind of heavy storytelling that makes melodic death metal hit on more than one level.

Speaking about the upcoming EP, vocalist and guitarist Vlad says:

“This EP is a darker and more honest version of Besomora. It’s heavy and aggressive, but still emotional, melodic and memorable.”

That really sums up what “Imminent Lies” brings to the table. It has the crushing side, no doubt, but it also has that emotional pulse underneath it. The song feels driven by tension, atmosphere and intent, giving listeners a clear sign that Devotion To The Fear will not just be another release from the band, but a genuine evolution.

Formed in 2021, Besomora have quickly carved out a strong place within the Australian heavy music scene. Their intense live performances and atmospheric take on melodic death metal have seen them share stages with some huge names, including Insomnium, Blind Guardian, Scar Symmetry and Psycroptic.

That kind of experience matters, and you can hear it in the confidence of this new material.

With Devotion To The Fear, Besomora look set to expand the darker and more aggressive side of their sound while bringing in modern metal influences, cinematic weight and emotionally driven songwriting. The EP features crushing nine string guitar work, layered atmosphere and a heavier sense of purpose that feels like the band pushing themselves into a bigger space.

Adding even more weight to the release, Devotion To The Fear will feature guest appearances from Per Nilsson of Scar Symmetry and Meshuggah, and Chris Broderick of In Flames and formerly Megadeth. That is some serious firepower to have involved, especially for a band already stepping into a more ambitious phase of their sound.

The EP also includes production contributions from Australian engineers Matt Clarke, Mike Trubetskov and Lance Prenc, bringing together a strong creative team to help shape this next chapter.

Lyrically and thematically, Besomora draw from Eastern European mythology, fear, inner demons and dark storytelling. That gives “Imminent Lies” a real sense of identity. It is not just about riffs and aggression, although there is plenty of that. It is also about building a world, setting a tone and pulling listeners into something with depth and atmosphere.

For fans of melodic death metal that carries darkness, emotion and a modern edge, Besomora are a band worth keeping firmly on the radar.

“Imminent Lies” is the first taste of Devotion To The Fear, and if this track is anything to go by, the EP is shaping up to be a heavier, darker and more fully realised statement from the Sydney band.

Devotion To The Fear will be released on September 18.
