Beyond The Veil Take Listeners on a Wild Journey Where Extreme Metal Meets Jazz, Folk and Prog

Modern extreme metal at its finest! Beyond The Veil and their crazy new album, Oblivion Released May 1st Through Wormholedeath Records.

Have you ever thought about merging multiple genres together to experience grace and heaven? Well, let me introduce you to Beyond The Veil.

“The result is music that moves between crushing intensity and reflective, melodic passages.” — BTV

This new album has so many different genres spun into the works, such as thrash, death, black metal, blackgaze, jazz, folk, classical, and prog rock. Such a great range for our soul and heart to submerge into. Not only is that a challenging task, but it also truly hits the mark for so many and is done perfectly.

Starting in 2020, BTV has one release on Spotify, an EP from 2024. With that, this album absolutely fills in every aspect, with Eric Fetterman on vocals and guitar, Yoshihiro Yamaji on lead guitar and Chapman Stick, DB Karma on keyboard, piano, synth and Mellotron, Keisule Tsuboi on drums, and Dave Griffiths on bass.

“Built On Sand” is an absolutely great opening. This track is a work of art. Thirteen minutes and forty seconds of bliss, with synth that calls to you, a slow folk middle point, a black metal feel, all while holding it together in progressive rock.

This song just feels so magical, so special in a thrashy mix. The switch-ups are so well placed that they honestly gave me a new feeling. I wasn’t sure what genre was about to speak to me next. Just wow. I feel like this track would help me cast hardcore spells from the great realms.

“Terminus”. What an amazing jazz song… oh wait, this is metal as fuck!

Eric F. sounds awesome, from moments where he sounds like he is coming through an old radio to that melodic voice. Am I dreaming, or am I in a tavern? The folk element holds so strong, mixing beautifully with greatness and an evil-sounding twist.

Honestly? This piece, this song, is genuinely beautiful. A new feeling. A new appreciation in a way of awe. I know this will hold some of you very close and fill you with the same emotions I went through here too.

Not only is Oblivion an album, it is also an entirely new adventure of a lifetime. A new story for us to express wholeheartedly.

Beyond The Veil, you have given us such an amazing new journey. Your work is magnificent.

This album will definitely need to hang as a vinyl on my wall.
