Hideous, howling, gloriously unhinged — Australian death-metal supergroup WEREWOLVES have dropped the video for their latest scorcher “I Want To Be Offended”, and they’re serving it as the centerpiece of their most disgustingly delightful record yet, The Ugliest Of All. If you thought any band could politely sit down and behave, you haven’t met these absolute carnivores.

The Ugliest Of All — Details (and a warning)
Released worldwide via Direct Merch / Back On Black, The Ugliest Of All lands in full-on digital and CD form on September 19th, with the vinyl horrors hitting on October 19th. This is album six in WEREWOLVES’ insane mission to drop ten death metal albums in ten years — a sustained assault on ears and decorum, and 2025’s entry may be their most gloriously unlistenable yet.
The band describe it plainly: an “increasingly unlistenable barrage of truly hideous music.” We agree. And we’re thrilled.
What to expect: riffs, blasphemy, and online outrage set to blastbeats
The new single and video, “I Want To Be Offended”, skewers today’s performative outrage culture — all the keyboard howling and virtue-signalling — and slams it into relentless blastbeats and rabid riffing. It’s vicious, topical, and grotesquely hilarious.
Lead idiot Sam lays it out better than anyone could:
“Pity not our unspeakable appearance, for what the world has taken from us in beauty it has given back in caveman riffs. There is not one single slow song on this album, not an iota of mercy, and anyone who thought they detected melody or musicianship on our previous albums will be devastated. I am fatter than ever before, with a face the shade of glazed ham, and the lyrics shall crush all to a level of moronic dribbling incapacitation.”
If that doesn’t sell you on the concept, nothing will.
The lineup — extreme pedigree on full blast
WEREWOLVES is an all-star Aussie death metal collision, and the personnel read like a who’s-who of extreme music pedigree:
- Dave Haley — drums (Psycroptic, King, Ruins, Abramelin, Blood Duster, The Amenta)
- Matt Wilcock — guitars (Akercocke, The Berzerker, Abramelin, Shotgun Mistress)
- Sam Bean — vocals (The Berzerker)
Clock in for thirty minutes of blackened, aggressive, no-mercy death metal — no ballads, no apologies, just punishing intensity.
Production & Artwork
As always, mixing and mastering duties were handled by Joe Haley (Psycroptic) — the man who sculpts brutality into sonic clarity. The cover art, a visual fever dream of horrifying detail, comes from Mitchell Nolte, entrusted again to excavate every last corner of the grotesque and deliver an image you’ll be compelled to stare at until you regret it. Seriously — study that artwork up close. It’s a horror exhibit.
Formats & How to Get It

Final Warning (and Recommendation)
WEREWOLVES aren’t for the faint-hearted, the tidy, or the melodically faint-of-mind. The Ugliest Of All is aggressively stupid in the best possible way: gloriously ugly riffs, blistering velocity, and lyrics designed to maim your sensibilities and leave you smiling through the carnage.
If you like your death metal filthy, fast, and viciously tongue-in-cheek — and if you enjoy watching the modern world get roasted with blastbeats — WEREWOLVES have delivered exactly what you didn’t know you needed.
