Those Who Dream Announces New EP “Therapy Machine” And Releases Powerful New Single “Mannequin”

Perth emo-pop-rock sweethearts Those Who Dream recently announced their long-awaited EPTherapy Machine, set to be released Friday, October 18, and shared the leading single Mannequin as the first teaser. They’ll head out on their own headline tour of the East Coast in October to launch the EP live – tickets are on sale now via Destroy All Lines.

The pair’s sophomore EP welcomes an all-star team of creatives, produced and mixed in-house by vocalist Josh Meyer (whose credits include The Amity Affliction, AViVA, Chez) with a master by the legendary Ted Jensen (Green Day, Deftness, Post Malone). Blending alternative rock, punk, emo, pop, and soul, the forthcoming extended play sees Those Who Dream level up on all fronts as they move towards the release of their most realised collection of tunes yet.

Leading single Mannequin sets the tone for what’s to come. Those Who Dream have always championed inclusivity and being one’s most genuine self – Mannequin is an anthem for the unapologetically authentic. The single explores the torment of grappling with criticism and alienation but finding the courage to pick yourself up stronger than before. “Maybe it’s some dumb comment on Instagram, or somebody you know constantly shutting down everything you do, or your own brain telling you you’re not good enough,” says the band. “This song is about standing up for yourself in the face of alienation, when all you hear is ‘you can’t do this’, ‘you’ll never be good enough to do that’, Mannequin is an unyielding rejection of that, like looking that person dead in the eyes and saying ‘watch me'”.

Those Who Dream announced recently that they’ll be headlining their way across Australia’s East Coast in October to live launch the new EP in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Presented by Destroy All Lines and sponsored by Transgenre Festival, the tour kicks off on October 18 and welcomes friends in Days Like These and Peni Parker to the fold as supports.
