Some bands don’t just play music—they carry history in their bones. On November 18th, 2025, The Gov in Adelaide was treated to exactly that, as The Animals rolled through with a show that felt equal parts celebration and time capsule. I was fortunate enough to be there on behalf of Crannk, camera in hand, capturing a living slice of rock ’n’ roll heritage as it roared back to life on an Adelaide stage.
From the opening notes, the band delivered that unmistakable Animals spirit—raw, blues-driven, soulful, and unmistakably real. Decades may have passed, but the fire hasn’t faded. The crowd sang, swayed, and soaked in every moment, proving once again why these songs remain carved into the DNA of rock music.
For me, seeing The Animals in full flight was extra special. Not long ago, I had the honour of sitting down with the legendary John Steel, the band’s founding drummer and one of the original architects behind that iconic British-Invasion sound. Below is the full photo gallery from the night—moments of sweat, grit, groove, and legacy, all captured live from the pit at The Gov.
Enjoy the shots, share the love, and keep supporting the legends who built the foundations we all stand on today. Crannk on.
