Storm the Crown Bring Controlled Chaos to Dead by Daylight 2

This past Saturday night, the underground came alive in Adelaide as Ironjaw Bookings delivered Dead by Daylight 2, a stacked local metal showcase that took over both levels of the iconic Rhino Room—with the downstairs Lowlife Bar erupting in sweat, screams, and circle pits.

Among the many killer bands on the bill, my band Storm the Crown hit the stage with everything we had—and damn, it felt good. For me, this show was personal. Not only did we play one of our tightest, most high-energy sets yet, but I also brought my best black metal face paint to date (vanity check: nailed it). The crowd was loud, the vibe was electric, and Adelaide’s love for heavy music was on full display.

I filmed the whole thing vlog-style for my YouTube channel, KillerTube, bringing viewers behind the scenes, into the pit, and backstage with some of the legends who make up this scene.

Who Was There?

The lineup was huge—too many to name in one breath, but standout sets came from:

  • Vapours, who opened the night with a firestarter performance.
  • Seek Misery, tearing through the Lowlife Bar with an unrelenting wall of noise.
  • PendleHill, delivering their signature melodic death with precision and passion.
  • Deadwaight80, with the ever-entertaining twin guitarists Julian and Rhys, who also feature in the vlog. Watching those two vibe and shred is half the entertainment on its own.

Other bands on the bill included Dreameater, Repriever, Ecdysis, I Choose Violence, Ekosa, and Zeolite—making it one of the most diverse and heavy nights Adelaide’s had in a while.

🎥 Why Watch the Vlog?

If you weren’t there, this vlog’s the next best thing. It’s got live clips, backstage laughs, and real, raw metal energy. And if you were there, watch it and relive the night from my point of view. I speak straight to camera, sharing thoughts, moments, and energy that you can’t always capture in a photo pit.

Final Thoughts:

Adelaide’s metal scene is thriving, and nights like this are proof that the underground is alive, growing, and absolutely crushing. Huge thanks to Ironjaw Bookings for pulling this monster together, and respect to every band that showed up and brought the heat.

I met the monster and took notes. Less Q&A, more LSD in a blender.
