We all meet those people, you know the ones, “yeah man, I used to listen to metal years ago, Machinehead n stuff”, they’re open to hearing new stuff but have no idea where to start.
I’ve recently come across a dude just like this at work but where do you start?
If people ask what type of music I like, I normally say heavy metal. To which people usually reply “oh like Metallica?”. I just smile and say “sort of”, then I show them this…..

But he’s caught on pretty fast and has bought himself a couple of Hell yeah albums………much to his wife’s despair but he enjoys it and in the end that’s all that matters.
Anyway, if you meet “that dude” push them in the right direction and keep the sickness going.
