Brisbane rock outfit Sound Affliction continues their rise as one of the most exciting and emotionally honest acts on the Australian scene. Following the gut-punch intensity of their debut single Sober and the riff-driven chaos of Devil In Me, the band returns with their most heartfelt track to date — Leave The Light On.
A track drenched in sincerity and power, Leave The Light On dives into the struggles of living with mental illness, capturing both the darkness and the fragile hope that shines when connection is offered.
The band explains:
“Leave The Light On is about experiencing mental illness, and the need for help and acceptance from others. In this complicated world we live in, it is easy for one to fall through the cracks and be left with depression and no drive to move forward. Sometimes, you need love from another to give you the strength to push on through.”
With soaring vocals, textured guitars, and a rhythm section that packs as much finesse as it does force, the song cements Sound Affliction’s ability to balance raw emotional weight with anthemic hooks.

Industry veteran Tim McLean-Smith (XMusic Bossman) had high praise for the band:
“Sound Affliction continue to deliver huge songs to get your teeth into and are growing strength to strength. Can’t wait to see these songs live as we head into 2026.”

While the name Sound Affliction may be new to some, the lineup is anything but inexperienced. Vocalist Matt (Scandal Tree, Don’t Come Monday) leads the charge with a voice that shifts seamlessly between grit and grandeur. Dual guitarists Dan (Black Whiskey) and Wayne (Scandal Tree, Cactus Dill Dos) weave riffs that balance shred with melody. Rhythm duties are driven by Travis (Don’t Come Monday) behind the kit, while bassist Kev Brown (Pyre & Ice) lays down the massive low-end foundation.
With Leave The Light On, Sound Affliction prove they’re not just writing songs — they’re telling stories that matter. Honest. Heavy. Healing.
