CRANNK REVIEWS: WILLIE J’s 6V6s & SEBASTIAN BACH LIVE AT THE GOV (ADELAIDE)
Review by Brett Parmenter – ParMetal Media & Crannk
Now, I’ve been to plenty of shows in my life — too many if you ask my wife — but very few have made an impression on me like the Sebastian Bach show featuring Willie J’s 6V6s did last night at The Gov in Adelaide.
Kicking off the show was a hungry, rock-’til-you-drop Willie J’s 6V6s. Let me tell you right now, don’t sleep on these guys. The tone they set for the evening was nothing short of stunning. Aussie rock lives on and is alive and well in the form of Willie J’s 6V6s.
What a way to make an impression on a sold-out crowd. Willie, Callum, and Seb came out and rocked the fucking house down with their uniquely stunning brand of classic Australian rock ’n’ roll — and let me tell you, they did not disappoint. In fact, they made a permanent impression on the rock scene in Adelaide and on me personally, and I get the distinct feeling that this trio are going to become massive and will go down in the annals of Oz rock history.
I had the distinct pleasure of chatting with Willie J and the boys after the show — check out ParMetal Media on Instagram to see the interview in full. Rock ’n’ rollers all the way. Thank you, fellas, for taking the time. I know I’ll see you collecting your first ARIA Award in a year or two after your debut album is released, and I can tell you right here, right now, it will be thoroughly deserved.
If Willie J’s 6V6s didn’t get the blood pumping enough, Sebastian Bach blew the fucking roof off The Gov, playing the debut Skid Row album in full as well as classics from Slave to the Grind and a few new tracks from his latest album, Child Within the Man.

Sebastian took the stage and commanded the crowd’s full attention for two hours, smashing through song after song with a vigour 57-year-olds seldom have. And for those fuckwit assholes out there talking shit about Sebastian lip-syncing — I can tell you firsthand, there was none of that horseshit.
Sebastian sang like a man possessed and fed off the cheering crowd’s energy like a rock ’n’ roll vampire. He was energetic, dynamic, and funny — telling dad jokes, interacting with fans, and showing that there truly still is a child within the man. At one point he threw bottles of water to a steaming hot crowd. I caught one cleanly with my left hand, but I gave it to a teenage guy standing behind me with his family so he had a great memory to take home with him.
From the opening track “What Do I Got to Lose?” all the way to the very last and fitting song “Get the Fuck Out,” Sebastian and his band had every single person in The Gov pulsating, swaying, and punching their fists in the air as one — a captivating experience for one and all.
This tour is sold out for a reason. The show is an absolute ball-tearer, and I for one would not have missed it for the world.
To Willie J’s 6V6s and the Sebastian Bach band: thank you for breathing rock ’n’ roll life into our city. It truly was a night to behold.
