Ladies and gentlemen, strap in and brace yourself, because Pyrokinesis are here to torch everything in sight. The Australian nu-hardcore scene just got a new standard-bearer, and it comes in the form of the scorching debut EP ‘Sulphur’, delivered by Bleeding Art Collective like a molten punch straight to the skull.
From the very first track, it’s clear: Pyrokinesis are not here to play nice. They’ve spent years honing their sound since 2019, distilling chaos, groove, and pure rage into something that lands somewhere between the hypnotic brutality of Alpha Wolf, the eerie textures of Deftones, and the crushing modern metalcore of Northlane and LANDMVRKS. Add in hip hop inflections and frantic hardcore energy, and you’ve got a sonic weapon that refuses to be ignored.
And if the EP wasn’t enough to melt your headphones, the band’s new video ‘Momentum’ is a full-frontal assault on your senses. Visually intense, physically aggressive, it captures the raw power and dissonant beauty of Pyrokinesis in motion—think molten metal bending in slow motion, or adrenaline dripping from every frame. Watch it here:
Frontman Skyler Patrick puts it plainly: “With ‘Sulphur’—keeping true to our namesake—from mind comes fire. The EP assaults listeners with a blistering display of the best of modern metal. The instrumentation and lyrics reflect the age in which we find ourselves: dissonant, frantic, damaged, but not yet devoid of hope. While ‘Sulphur’ captures our dynamic and development since our inception, looking ahead, Pyrokinesis will wander deeper into the abyss of heavy music, fusing elements of slam, deathcore, and black metal into the band’s signature nu-core sound.”
It’s a promise and a warning: Pyrokinesis are digging deeper, harder, faster, and heavier, and there’s no end in sight.
For those craving the full live experience, Pyrokinesis hit the road for the ‘Metalcore Mayhem Tour’ this March alongside Deathbeds and Bitterkind. These aren’t your local pub jam nights—these are war zones for the ears, where the pit opens wide and the energy never dies:
- March 21 – Melbourne, Cafe Gummo
- March 27 – Sydney, Burdekin (Upstairs)
- March 28 – Gold Coast, Vinnies Dive Bar
‘Sulphur’ isn’t just an EP—it’s a declaration. Pyrokinesis are burning their path through the Australian metal landscape, and if you’re not paying attention, you’ll get scorched. Crank it loud, step into the pit, and feel the fire.
