Melbourne post-hardcore outfit Post Heaven have dropped their sophomore EP The Space That’s In Between, out now via Greyscale Records, alongside the video for their ambitious new single “Hesitation Lover.”
Where last year’s lead single Exit Wound showcased the band’s ferocity, Hesitation Lover widens the horizon. Anchored by towering riffs and ethereal synth textures, the track folds shoegaze, drone, and space rock into a heavy, atmospheric swirl. Anthemic vocals cut through the haze, pulling in a nostalgic edge that recalls 90s alt-legends like Hum and Deftones.
Across its four tracks, The Space That’s In Between pushes Post Heaven’s sound into uncharted territory. The EP blurs lines between post-hardcore, alt-metal, shoegaze, ambient, and electronica, resulting in a release that’s as diverse as it is cohesive. From the lush and dreamlike opener End Alone, to the soaring and cathartic closer Hesitation Lover, Post Heaven prove themselves unafraid to explore bold sonic ground.
And they’ve been carving their name on stages just as hard. In just over a year, the band have shared the stage with Thornhill, Fleshwater, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, and Cave In, before hitting New Bloom Festival in Melbourne alongside Citizen, Movements, and Touché Amoré. 2025 has already seen them on the road with Trophy Eyes and wrapping a national run with Bloom on the Withered Across Australia tour.
Now, with The Space That’s In Between, Post Heaven stand ready to set themselves apart in Australia’s alternative heavy scene — a band that refuses to be pigeonholed and one that continues to expand the sonic universe they inhabit.
