Perth hardcore outfit Pincer+ have unleashed details of their long-awaited debut album, Who Are You When No One’s Around, set for release Friday, December 12 via Greyscale Records and 1126 Records — and with it comes the blistering new single “Blue Light Overdose”, out now on all streaming platforms.
Diving deep into the bleak corners of human emotion — isolation, guilt, rage, and the hollow static between everything and nothing — Pincer+’s upcoming record promises to be a raw and introspective reckoning.
“It’s about losing control, pulling yourself apart, and trying to figure out who you are,” the band explain. “We found the title felt like a way to tie it all together — it’s a question for us as much as anyone else, about facing the parts of yourself that only show up when no one’s watching.”
“Blue Light Overdose,” the latest single, is a venomous statement piece — short, sharp, and unrelenting — reflecting the band’s disgust for selfishness and exploitation in a world already stretched thin.
“It’s written from a place of hate and utter disdain for those who continue to take while providing no real benefit to anyone,” the band says. “It’s definitely one of the more aggressive and to-the-point songs on the album, and the closest in sound to our older material.”
New Era, Same Relentless Fire
Following lineup changes that saw Jaiden Higgon take over on vocals and Isryan Shah join on bass, Pincer+ embraced the chaos and started fresh. That shift has clearly ignited something new — a tighter, sharper, more focused incarnation that hits like a loaded weapon.
Their debut album Who Are You When No One’s Around marks a pivotal step forward, building on their explosive foundations laid by the Hunting God Tapes EPs (Vol. 1: Violence and Vol. 2: Romance) and crushing singles like “Angeldust” and “Pulling Strings.”
Live and Loud in 2026

Pincer+ are set to bring their new sound to the stage at Perth’s Froth & Fury Festival in January 2026, joining a stacked lineup led by Polaris, Soulfly, and In Hearts Wake. Expect chaos, catharsis, and one of the most punishing live sets of the summer.
With just a few years under their belt, Pincer+ have already carved out a cult following, tearing up stages alongside Kublai Khan, Stray From The Path, Like Moths To Flames, Justice For The Damned, and Void Of Vision.
Their upcoming album looks set to cement that trajectory — a brutal and introspective mirror reflecting the modern malaise, the personal rot, and the burning need to feel something real.
