There are bands who perform, bands who evolve, and then there are bands like Persefone—artists who transform every time they touch an instrument. And with their upcoming release Live In Andorra (out December 5, 2025 via Napalm Records), Persefone have captured a moment that feels less like a live album and more like a spiritual homecoming forged in fire, discipline, and twenty years of progressive death metal mastery.
And today, the Andorran titans shine another light on this monumental performance with their breathtaking second single, “Leap of Faith (Live)”, taken from the band’s 2022 album metanoia and completely reimagined alongside the Orquestra Nacional Clàssica d’Andorra.
This is Persefone as they’ve never been heard before.
This is Andorra singing through their strings.
A SONG THEY NEVER THOUGHT THEY’D PLAY LIVE—UNTIL NOW
“Leap of Faith” has always been one of Persefone’s most emotionally resonant compositions—a sprawling, cinematic, instrumental piece that pulls you under and lifts you at the same time. It’s a track built on precision and vulnerability, designed with layers that most bands wouldn’t dare attempt on a stage.
And according to the band, it wasn’t even meant to be a live song.
“There was one song we really wanted to use as a single, and it had to be ‘Leap of Faith’. It being instrumental raised some eyebrows… but when everyone heard how the orchestra made it come alive, it was an easy choice.”
— PERSEFONE
The moment you hear this version, you understand why.
Violins turn the melody into a cathedral.
The brass section lifts every chord change into the stratosphere.
And those signature Persefone transitions—lightning-fast, deeply emotive, technically impossible—feel reborn.
This is symphonic progressive death metal at its most seamless.
LIVE IN ANDORRA — A HOMECOMING 20 YEARS IN THE MAKING
Recorded in May 2024 at the National Auditorium of Andorra, this concert wasn’t just another tour stop. It was Persefone returning home for the first time in ten years—performing in the most prestigious venue their country has, backed by its National Classical Orchestra, in front of the people who watched them rise from a cramped rehearsal room to international acclaim.
It’s the definition of a full-circle moment.
In their words:
“It’s not everyday you can celebrate the history of your band with such a unique set of circumstances… Playing at home, at the National Hall, with the National Orchestra, was something we never imagined possible.”
The performance spans 14 tracks, pulling from their last four studio albums and the Lingua Ignota EP. Every era of Persefone is represented, reconstructed, and elevated through orchestral arrangements led by conductor Albert Gumí and concertmaster Pere Bardagí.
Highlights include:
- “Living Waves” – transformed into an emotional high point of the entire set
- “Stillness Is Timeless” – haunting piano passages explode into orchestral grandeur
- “Prison Skin” – technical, devastating, and even more intense with brass and percussion
- “Kusanagi” – the orchestra takes the spotlight in a breathtaking standalone moment
And for the first time on a major release, fans get these songs with new frontman Daniel R. Flys, who makes both classic tracks and new material feel timeless and immediate.
A NEW DIMENSION FOR PROGRESSIVE DEATH METAL
Persefone have always been a band of complexity—philosophy, introspection, precision, and emotional weight. But with Live In Andorra, they’ve entered a new creative tier.
The orchestra doesn’t just augment the sound.
It recontextualizes it.
It elevates it.
It reveals just how intricate, dynamic, and deeply human Persefone’s music has always been.
This album is not just a live document.
It is a milestone release for the band, for Andorra, and for the entire progressive metal world.
