ONSLAUGHT Unleash Blistering 2025 Re-Recording of “In Search of Sanity” Ahead of New Album ‘Origins of Aggression’

UK thrash legends ONSLAUGHT are back and showing no signs of slowing down. After making serious noise with their thunderous take on MOTÖRHEAD’s “Iron Fist,” the band has dropped the second single from their upcoming double album Origins of Aggression, due out May 23, 2025, via Reigning Phoenix Music.

And this one hits home.

ONSLAUGHT have resurrected their 1989 title track “In Search of Sanity” — not just dusted off, but completely re-recorded and reimagined with 2025 fury. The result is a ferocious modern take that retains the soul of the original while ramping up the aggression, clarity, and sheer power.

“This new recording of the title track from the album of the same name has completely blown me away,” says founding guitarist Nige Rockett. “It’s like night and day compared to the original version. It’s common knowledge that I’ve never been a huge fan of the album overall. Don’t get me wrong – I love the songs, but at the time it just wasn’t an ONSLAUGHT album in terms of the production, vibe, and everything else that surrounded it.”

Rockett’s honesty underscores the passion behind this reworking: “It’s always been my dream to re-record the whole album and finally make it sound like a real ONSLAUGHT record – the way it should have sounded the first time around. Here it is…! Tons of aggression and anger, a real heavy thrash song with all the necessary components. I hope you dig the new lease of life this track now has, as much as we do!”
