DEBUT EP OUT FRIDAY MAY 2 VIA GREYSCALE RECORDS
SUPPORTING THORNHILL ACROSS AUSTRALIA ON THE ‘BODIES’ TOUR

Metal outfit Melting, self-described as sonic aggression made in Melbourne, last week announced their signing to Greyscale Records. Today, the band announce their debut EP ‘You Exist Because We Allow It’ out Friday May 2 via Greyscale Records – new single Into The Suffer releases today to tease what’s still to come. Pre-orders live now. Melting will launch their new music live across Australia on tour with Thornhill later this month on the Bodies Tour.
After generating some buzz with three debut singles last year, Melting quickly attracted the attention of Greyscale, who are now proud to represent the four-piece. ‘You Exist Because We Allow It’ is the groups first record together and first as a freshly signed band, and they’ve put their best foot forward on their defining new collection. “The title says it all”, says the band.
“This record is relentless, both sonically and in its themes—absolute control, or the lack thereof. Refusing to be pigeon holed was the catalyst for the direction of this EP. We pulled from doom, sludge, hardcore, black, and death metal, but still kept it under the metalcore umbrella. Putting a ribbon on this whole project was a bit chaotic but that’s part of its charm to us.”
“We want to push against what our contemporaries think is the “right thing to do” and just make whatever the fuck we want. If it’s heavy, sick. If it’s melodic, sick. If it’s a 40 second doom section in the middle of a metalcore song, sick. Enjoy it, or don’t. We don’t care.”
Previous single 874 rounded out 2024 and paved the way for the next chapter of Melting. New single Into The Suffer is ‘You Exist Because We Allow It’ in a nutshell with its nasty, sludgy riffs. Stream the music video filmed and directed by Karl Steller and Abbey Bamford
