Adelaide progressive metalcore up-and-comers LUMENS ring in the new year with a fresh new single In Too Deep, and announce the release of their self-titled debut EP, out Friday, April 11 via Wild Thing Records.
The leading single In Too Deep captures the urgency of resistance, with aggressive, jittery energy that drives a message home. It’s a searing critique of societal control and the manipulative forces that restrict personal freedom. The song opens with a bold call to “step off the wheel and break free,” urging listeners to reject the pressures of conformity and challenge the societal systems that keep them trapped. As the lyrics unravel, they expose the tactics of fear, greed, and corporate influence used to control the masses.
“In Too Deep is not just a song, but a rallying cry for anyone who feels confined by oppressive forces,” tells the band. “We urge listeners to question authority, fight for autonomy, and seek the freedom to define their own path. It’s an anthem for those ready to break free.”
The new single introduces listeners to LUMENS forthcoming debut EP, which explores the raw complexities of human existence. The EP dives deep into themes of inner battles, societal defiance, and the search for identity and freedom. It weaves a sonic narrative that’s both punishing and breathtaking— every riff, breakdown, and melody reflects the tension between chaos and catharsis, challenging listeners to confront their own struggles and aspirations.
