LORD OF THE LOST Complete the OPVS NOIR Trilogy as Vol. 3 Closes a Dark and Defiant Chapter

Hamburg gothic industrial visionaries LORD OF THE LOST are drawing a powerful line under one of the most ambitious creative arcs of their career. On April 10, 2026, the band will release OPVS NOIR Vol. 3, the final chapter in a trilogy that has stretched genre boundaries, challenged expectation, and reaffirmed their place as one of modern heavy music’s most fearless acts.

Following the striking impact of OPVS NOIR Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 throughout 2025, this closing volume feels both conclusive and expansive. It is cinematic, theatrical, deeply emotional, and unafraid to sit in the shadows while still reaching for something universal. Where the earlier records explored different facets of the OPVS NOIR world, Vol. 3 brings them together with clarity and conviction.

“I Hate People,” is a sharp, stomping industrial anthem featuring horror punk icon Wednesday 13. Beneath its dark humour and confrontational title sits a pointed message about equality and shared humanity, delivered with the unmistakable swagger that has defined LORD OF THE LOST’s recent era.

Inside OPVS NOIR Vol. 3

Across eleven tracks, LORD OF THE LOST deliver what may be their most unpredictable and richly layered album to date. Opening track “Kill The Lights” sets the tone immediately, unfolding as a brooding overture built on orchestral tension and gothic atmosphere before the album fans outward into bold stylistic territory.

“I’m A Diamond,” featuring Alea of Saltatio Mortis, injects defiant energy and melodic colour, while “My Funeral” twists expectations by reframing mourning as something strangely celebratory and life affirming. Elsewhere, “The Shadows Within” leans into symphonic darkness, pairing weight and introspection in equal measure.

One of the album’s most striking moments arrives with “La Vie Est Hell,” featuring Hannes Braun of Kissin’ Dynamite. Inspired by Charles Baudelaire’s Les Fleurs du mal, the track blends poetic decadence with heavy gothic grandeur, incorporating French lyrics that elevate its sense of drama and decay.

Emotional depth continues on “When Did The Love Break?” where Chris Harms is joined by Ambre Vourvahis of Xandria for a melancholic reflection on love, distance, and erosion over time. “Take Me Far Away,” a duet with Damien Edwards of Cats In Space, swings confidently into glam rock territory before the album closes with “The Days Of Our Lives,” a cinematic finale that feels like the curtain falling on a carefully constructed world.

From Blood & Glitter to OPVS NOIR

Since Blood & Glitter launched LORD OF THE LOST into the global spotlight with a number one German chart debut and their unforgettable Eurovision 2023 appearance, the band have consistently refused to stand still. Rather than chase repetition, they have embraced contrast, evolution, and creative risk.

The OPVS NOIR trilogy captures that restless spirit in full. Blending metal, industrial, pop, and gothic theatre, the three volumes explore identity, equality, artistic freedom, and emotional vulnerability without sacrificing heaviness or intent. Vol. 3 feels like both an ending and a threshold, closing one chapter while clearly pointing toward the next transformation.
