Melbourne metal outfit HEAVENSGATE continues their rapid ascent with the release of their electrifying new single “RAIN”, out now via Greyscale Records and Pure Noise Records.
Marking a powerful emotional shift, RAIN dives deep into themes of grief and emotional isolation, capturing the raw essence of loss with unapologetic intensity. “While this is a personal story told by us, the symptoms of emotional isolation and helplessness are symptoms of grief we all share,” the band shares.
Entirely self-produced, RAIN was meticulously crafted to maintain the band’s unfiltered vision. “Every element of this track, from the lyrics to the instrumentation, was crafted to reflect a deeply personal vision, making the final result an uncompromised and authentic expression of our sound,” they explain.
Coming off a huge few months, HEAVENSGATE have shown no signs of slowing down. From sharing stages with heavyweights like The Amity Affliction, Ice Nine Kills (US), and We Came As Romans (US) across arena stages last December, to signing with Pure Noise Records in February and embarking on their first-ever North American tour with Thrown (SWE) in early 2024, the band’s momentum has been nothing short of explosive. Their previous single OBLIVION was a blistering statement piece that set the tone for a massive year ahead.
September and October will see HEAVENSGATE storm UK and European stages for the first time as part of the Bad Luck Tour, supporting We Came As Romans (US) and Brand of Sacrifice (CAN)—yet another milestone that speaks to the band’s rapid global rise.
The HEAVENSGATE journey began at the tail end of 2022 with the release of their haunting debut CHEMICAL HEAVEN, which introduced a visceral new force into the alternative music scene. Their debut EP AND ALL I LOVED, I LOVED ALONE followed soon after, featuring production from Joshua Ang (Pincer+), drum work by Erik Bickerstaffe (Loathe), and mixing/mastering by Buster Odeholm (Thrown, Humanity’s Last Breath, Vildhjarta). It solidified HEAVENSGATE as one of the most compelling new acts in modern metal.
Their first ever live show in 2023—also their first headline set—sold out completely, and they’ve since toured nationally with the likes of The Amity Affliction, The Gloom In The Corner, and PROMPTS (JPN), as well as playing alongside While She Sleeps (UK), Currents (US), Invent Animate (US), and August Burns Red (US).
With RAIN, HEAVENSGATE has once again proven their ability to harness pain and passion into something utterly transcendent. The single is streaming now everywhere.
