HEATHEN Kick Off a New Era With Napalm Records, Drop “Never A God” And Announces Collector 12‑inch

Bay Area thrash legends HEATHEN aren’t easing into their next chapter. They’ve signed with Napalm Records, released a fierce new single and video, and announced a 12‑inch maxi single that lands April 23. All while a new album is still in the works.

This is the San Francisco iconoclasts setting the tone loud and clear: past, present, and future are colliding, and they’re doing it on their terms.

“Never A God” Is Out Now — A Classic Resurrected

The first strike of this new partnership is “Never A God”, the title track from Laughing Dead’s first demo back in the early 1990s. That band was fronted by HEATHEN vocalist David White in its original incarnation, and now the song resurfaces under the full‑on HEATHEN hammer — heavier, tighter, and driven by decades of thrash mastery.

“Never A God”, out now alongside an official music video and serving as the title track of an upcoming 12” maxi single, due April 23.

It’s more than a reissue or nostalgia stunt. It’s a deliberate re‑contextualisation of a song with roots in the local scene that shaped the band, sharpened for a new era and a wider audience.

The Deal That Changes The Game

HEATHEN’s move to Napalm Records was confirmed in a public announcement, highlighting the start of a new chapter.

The label was equally enthusiastic. Senior A R from Napalm, Sebastian Muench, stressed that bringing HEATHEN into the Napalm family was an honor and a major step in taking the band’s legacy higher.

This isn’t just a contract. It’s a statement. It signals momentum, support, and a serious push toward whatever comes next.

A Legacy Forged In The Bay Area, Still Dangerous

HEATHEN first rose from the San Francisco scene in 1984, right when the Bay Area thrash movement was forming its core. Their early work — Breaking The Silence in 1987 and Victims Of Deception in 1991 — became foundational pieces of West Coast thrash, held up as staples of the genre’s golden era.

After a break and later returns, the band’s releases have been selective but always heavy hitting. Each record reinforced HEATHEN’s reputation for sharp riffs, technical precision, and an unmistakable urgency that never felt forced or kitschy.

Now, with new label backing, a renewed creative drive, and a track like “Never A God” out in the world, HEATHEN are in a position to both honour their past and push aggressively into the future.
