EVERGREY Ignite a Breathless New Era with “OXYGEN!” — A Haunting Cry of Survival and Strength

Swedish metal titans EVERGREY have returned, breathing life and anguish into a brand-new single, “OXYGEN!”, a track that embodies everything fans have come to love about the band — and then pushes it further into the abyss.

Before embarking on a massive European and UK tour with KATATONIA, EVERGREY unleash OXYGEN! — a track steeped in shadow, melody, and crushing emotional depth. It’s a song that doesn’t just ask for air — it gasps for it.

Blending eerie atmospheres, sharp progressive edges, and a heart-wrenching lyrical pulse, “OXYGEN!” dives headfirst into the suffocating struggle of depression and inner turmoil. It’s a visceral cry for life amid the weight of darkness — a desperate grasp for that one breath of clarity and hope when everything else feels drowned in despair.

With Simen Sandnes taking up the drums, a refreshed production team featuring Tom S. Englund and Vikram Shankar (Within Temptation, Silent Skies), and the mix handled by Adam “Nolly” Getgood (Periphery, Sleep Token, Architects), EVERGREY sound revitalized — grounded in their signature melancholy yet fiercely modern and heavier than ever.

“This is EVERGREY at our most explosive,” the band declares. “Almost certainly our heaviest track yet, packed with crushing riffs, vibrant key changes, and soaring melodies that’ll awaken your soul. Lyrically, it embodies the raw, suffocating weight of inner darkness, yet symbolizes the relentless, never-ending war to break free and grasp that fleeting breath of hope. We’ve bled for this one and can’t wait for you to live in its intensity. Because this is us, like you’ve never heard before.”

This November, EVERGREY will take OXYGEN! on the road across Europe and the UK alongside KATATONIA, with support from Klogr, playing 32 shows from Turku, Finland, to Stockholm, Sweden, just before Christmas.

“OXYGEN!” isn’t just another single — it’s a pulse. A reminder that even in suffocating darkness, there’s still something worth fighting for.
