Drown This Fury Returns: Adelaide Metal Legends Reunite at Metal on Murray

The Adelaide metal underground has a habit of resurrecting the loudest ghosts, and right now one of them is clawing its way back out of the dirt. Drown This Fury — a band that once roared through the local scene with melodic savagery and bone-cracking breakdowns — is back from a long slumber, reforming after years off the radar and preparing to unleash chaos once again at Metal on Murray.

For a while there, the band felt like one of those classic Adelaide “what if” stories — a killer EP, a run of shows, then silence. Life happened. Projects shifted. Time rolled on. But like any good metal story, the embers never really died. Now the furnace is roaring again.

The new chapter comes with some changes in the ranks, but the mission is the same: heavy riffs, ferocious energy, and the kind of live show that reminds you why sweaty local gigs are the lifeblood of the scene. There’s also new music already bubbling under the surface, with fresh material written and plans forming for a new EP in the near future.

In my interview with the band we dug into the whole wild ride — the hiatus years, the rebirth of the band, ridiculous scene memories, and the strange twists that led to this new lineup coming together again. It’s the kind of story that only really happens in local heavy music: part brotherhood, part chaos, and occasionally part prank war.

Adelaide’s Metal on Murray is back, tearing through the long weekend of March 21–23, 2026, with a line-up that’s equal parts chaos and carnage. Local legends, rising acts, and a few old-school surprises collide for three days of mosh, riffs, and beers—Drown This Fury will be hitting the stage, and trust me, you do not want to miss it.
