San Francisco thrash metal legends DEATH ANGEL are back to set 2025 ablaze with their crushing new single “Cult of the Used” — a ferocious follow-up to “Wrath (Bring Fire)” and the band’s most explosive track in years. This is only their second new song in six years, and it’s pure pit-fueled destruction from one of the genre’s most enduring icons.
Brimming with breakneck riffs, bone-splintering groove, and razor-sharp precision, “Cult of the Used” hits like a sermon from the altar of chaos. The accompanying animated video, created by Tamara Llenas of Aimed and Framed, brings the song’s vision to vivid, nightmarish life — a mesmerizing portrayal of manipulation, blind devotion, and mass control wrapped in surreal, psychedelic color.
“Our new song ‘Cult Of The Used’ is a depiction of society under hypnosis, being strategically manipulated and taken advantage of. It urges you to leave the so-called reality behind…” explains guitarist Rob Cavestany.
“We wanted to release this song to coincide with our ACT III US Tour, which kicks off on November 26th in Denver and concludes with two nights at The Fillmore in San Francisco for our 10th Annual ‘Another Death Angel Xmas Show(s).’ We haven’t headlined in the States since 2019, so we wanted to make it extra extra!”
