Dead Animal Assembly Plant Ignite a Revolution of Noise and Fury with “The Only Good Dictator Is a Dead Dictator”

Portland’s own industrial insurgents Dead Animal Assembly Plant have returned with a venomous new single, “The Only Good Dictator Is a Dead Dictator,” out now via Armalyte Industries — a track that rips open the chest of complacency and bares the raw, beating heart of rebellion.

Fusing serrated industrial metal, seething electronics, and an unrelenting horror aesthetic, this new offering sees the band at their most politically and emotionally charged. Dead Animal Assembly Plant once again hold up the mirror to humanity’s ugliest truths — power, fear, and the cycles of manipulation that define modern society.

“This song is aggressive from tonality to message,” says frontman Zach “Dead” Wager. “It underlines society’s complicity toward totalitarianism and how we’re controlled through fabricated fears and toxic vitriol spewed by those in power. The world is better off without tyrants — the only good dictator is a dead dictator.”

Recorded at Primal Studios and produced, mixed, and engineered by Fernando Ruiz, the track was mastered by Nicky Howard and features artwork by Rebecca Wager. The accompanying one-shot live performance video — filmed at Wasteland Weekend — perfectly captures the band’s feral energy and theatrical intensity.

Since forming in 2007, Dead Animal Assembly Plant have forged a reputation as one of industrial metal’s most fearless acts. Originally a solo project from Zach Wager, the band evolved into a full-blown sonic experiment in 2011, drawing influence from Slipknot, Nine Inch Nails, Pig, and Rob Zombie, yet carving out something entirely their own.

“Nothing is off-limits,” Wager explains. “We’ve sampled high-tension wires, used theremins — whatever we feel adds personality and chaos. We don’t try to fit any genre conventions.”

Their chaotic vision has taken them from Knotfest 2015 to Wasteland Weekend (2018–2024) and beyond, including tours with Combichrist and headlining runs across North America. They’ve also composed eerie soundscapes for Belgian surrealist duo Mothmeister, proving that the world of Dead Animal Assembly Plant extends far beyond the stage.

With “The Only Good Dictator Is a Dead Dictator,” DAAP sharpen their claws, calling out corruption and apathy with unrelenting precision. It’s more than just a song — it’s a war cry for those still willing to think, rage, and resist.
