Tribal Gaze arose from the arid and treacherous land of Texas, U.S.A. Inveighing Brilliance is their follow-up album to their 2021 release Godless Voyage and firmly establishes the bone-grinding ancient nature of their death metal. Out through Nuclear Blast Records, Inveighing Brilliance immediately brutalises the listener with the primal fury of its riffs and its raw aggression.
Ten tracks coming in at just over 30 minutes of mother-nature-levelling violence; if a tree is felled by the sound of pure aural destruction, would a human even survive to see it? With such unrelenting harshness, the tempo changes and grooves that are laden throughout keep this album from becoming a monotonous beast, and instead it becomes a monolithic titan.
The only thing dragging this down for me is the run time. I would have loved an extra ten or so minutes, as the hellscape of the music was just getting into the groove when it all too soon came to an end.
