Sydney melodic hardcore powerhouse Bloom have unleashed their long-awaited and emotionally charged new album, The Light We Chase — out now via Pure Noise Records.
Following the success of their previous singles Out Of Reach, Tongue Tied, and Withered, this record captures the band at their most visceral, vulnerable, and sonically dynamic to date.
“In many ways, the album is an oxymoron,” shares drummer Jack Van Vliet. “You can’t catch light in your hands, and you can’t have darkness without the light casting its shadow. We all have an idea of something perfect — a memory, a vision of the future, a light at the end of the tunnel. The Light We Chase is that perfection. The sublime. The taste of something good. Our widest exploration of how far metalcore can be pushed and shaped, this album is lyrically diverse as it is instrumentally.”
With its themes of heartbreak, disillusionment, and the endless pursuit of hope amid chaos, The Light We Chase stands as a crushing yet cathartic milestone for Bloom — showcasing a powerful evolution in both songwriting and emotional depth.
Alongside the album release, Bloom have dropped a brand new music video for “Keep You (ft. Pat Miranda)”, a track that perfectly encapsulates their melodic ferocity and emotive storytelling.
