Album Review – Battlegrave Relics Of A Dead Earth

Battlegrave are two extremely talented musicians Clint Patzel and Rohan Buntine, I first came across Battlegrave with the To Hell with War EP and was immediately blown away like a shotgun to my ears, with the war themes and sound of Battlegrave which reminded me of so many of the great thrash bands I grew up on. This is an album I have been really looking forward to, as a fan myself i made sure to pre order this and wasn’t dissappointed.

Battlegrave’s album Relic Of A Dead Earth starts with a Gavel Says…..Die! which sets the tone and pace of this thrash/metal masterpiece, with war and historical themes (The wreck of trinculo). Betray Your Beliefs, Rot In Oblivion, The Witch In The Wood, as will this whole album will have your inner and outer metal head screaming along.

Relics Of A Dead Earth also has fellow thrashers Jake Weber of Harlott with guest guitar on a few tracks(tracks 1,2,3,4 &9)  and Guest vocals from Andrew Hudson of Harlott on Rot In Oblivion.

This album Relics Of A Dead Earth has well and truly cemented Battlegrave on the Australian Metal scene with an absolutely great must have album for your metal collection and is up there as one of my favourite album releases of 2018.The quality and talent of these guys are unreal and reminds me how good Aussie Metal is. Do yourself a favour and get this absolute stomper of an album for your Metal collection or as a stocking filler for the metal head in your life. \m/
