🧨 DARKFLOW: Welcome to the Imminent End – A Conversation with Sean Horror

By Jai That Aussie Metal Guy | Crannk.com

Swiss horror metal freakshow DARKFLOW isn’t just a band—they’re a full-blown descent into theatrical madness. Drawing influence from shock rock, industrial metal, goth, and horror cinema, DARKFLOW exploded onto the scene with their chaotic and captivating debut album Insane Circus in 2023. Now, they’re gearing up to drag fans even deeper into the abyss with their upcoming second album, Imminent End, set for release in May 2025.

I recently had the absolute pleasure of catching up with Sean Horror, the sinister voice and frontman of DARKFLOW, for a video interview on Crannk and The Bloody Legends Podcast. We dove into the band’s horror-inspired visuals, the evolution of their sound, and what fans can expect from this next twisted chapter.

But perhaps the most powerful part of the interview was Sean’s candid reflection on his personal battle with a neurodegenerative disease—a battle that not only shaped Insane Circus, but also his outlook on life, purpose, and survival.

🩸 Enter the DARKFLOW

Formed in Switzerland, DARKFLOW consists of five theatrical miscreants:

  • Sean Horror – Vocals
  • Flow – Guitar
  • Meech K – Guitar
  • Dr. Trykster – Bass
  • Soa Grihim – Drums

Together, they conjure a sound that’s equal parts Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, and Cradle of Filth, but with a distinctly European gothic flair and a cinematic horror twist. Their live shows are notorious for their immersive visuals—featuring corpse paint, eerie lighting, and a stage presence that leans more towards a horror theatre performance than a traditional metal gig.

“Everything we do is about bringing people into the world of DARKFLOW,” Sean told me. “We want you to feel like you’re inside a nightmare… and maybe enjoy it just a little too much.”

💔 Insane Circus – A Personal Tragedy Transformed into Art

DARKFLOW’s 2023 debut album Insane Circus is more than just a record—it’s a profound and tragic story, shaped by Sean Horror’s real-life struggle with a neurodegenerative disease that turned his world upside down. In the interview, Sean bravely shared how close he came to giving up—but chose instead to turn his pain into purpose through music.

“I wanted to die. But instead, I created something that might help someone else live,” Sean explained.

Through Insane Circus, DARKFLOW aims to bring solace to those battling mental health issues, chronic illness, or any form of invisible suffering. The album serves as both a scream from the void and a lifeline to others caught in it. Altruism, Sean told me, became his reason to keep going—and DARKFLOW became his way to transform despair into connection.

“For me, altruism is survival. Helping others is how I help myself.”

🔥 “Press The Button” – A Warning from the Apocalypse

Their latest single, “Press The Button”, is a perfect preview of where DARKFLOW is heading next. With pounding industrial rhythms, distorted vocals, and apocalyptic themes, the track feels like a warning shot from a crumbling world. It’s the band’s most politically and socially charged song to date—wrapping global anxiety in twisted horror imagery.

“We live in a time where everything feels like it’s on the edge,” Sean said. “That’s what Press The Button is about—the chaos, the pressure, the impulse to destroy. It’s scary because it feels real.”

đź’€ Imminent End Is Coming

DARKFLOW’s highly anticipated sophomore album, Imminent End, drops May 2025, and if the new single is anything to go by, it’s going to be heavier, darker, and even more theatrical than their debut. The album explores themes of mental decay, global catastrophe, manipulation, and the beauty of embracing one’s demons.

“Imminent End isn’t just about death or destruction,” Sean explained. “It’s about transformation. It’s about what comes after the collapse. We want listeners to feel like they’re walking through the wreckage—but also discovering some weird kind of empowerment in the shadows.”

🧛‍♂️ The Horror Lives On

Whether you’re drawn in by the music, the horror, or the message, there’s no denying that DARKFLOW is a band carving out their own wicked path in the metal world. They’re not afraid to make you uncomfortable—and that’s exactly what makes them so compelling.

If you’re into bands that bring spectacle, story, and sonic violence in equal measure, DARKFLOW should absolutely be on your radar. With Imminent End looming and their live shows only getting more elaborate, now is the perfect time to step into the circus… before the curtain falls for good.
